Revelation Software drew attendees from not just the U.S., but also Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Germany, Switzerland, England and Canada, to its recent users conference held in Las Vegas. "We had representation from developers all over the world," says Robert Catalano, Revelation's director of sales.
According to Catalano, attendees came for the education, networking, and in particular to hear more about Revelation's upcoming release of OpenInsight 9.3, which will be generally available later this year. There was strong interest in the new Banded Report Writer, which offers an array of sophisticated, yet simple-to-use tools that allow users and developers to create stored and ad hoc reports; and new encryption capabilities; as well as OpenInsight for Web (O4W) in general; and the new mobile computing capabilities, says Catalano.
"We were very pleased," says Catalano. "It was a very good blend of education, camaraderie, and fun," that even included a casino night with play money, enabling participants to gamble recklessly. In fact, Catalano says, as soon as the plane touched down in New Jersey the Revelation team began planning the next Revelation users conference. The next conference will be held in spring 2013, with Nashville, Tennessee, and Orlando, Florida, now on the short list of possible venues, he says.
