Noetix Corp., a provider of business intelligence (BI) software and services for enterprise applications, recently introduced its newest operational reporting solution for Oracle E-Business Suite, NoetixViews 6.0. This latest release provides new global views for Oracle Financials, U.S. Federal Financials, Supply Chain, Discrete Manufacturing, Projects, and Enterprise Asset Management, joining the previously released global views for Oracle's Human Resource Management System (HRMS) applications.
The 6.0 release represents the next generation of NoetixViews, says Paul Winterstein, director, product management at Noetix. Many organizations use the Oracle E-Business Suite, he notes. These companies have operations throughout the world and the global views will scale for these larger organizations and yet it is the smallest footprint of NoetixViews the company has ever delivered, he points out. The global views for each NoetixViews module deliver data from all business groups, ledgers, operating units, and inventory organizations in the Oracle E-Business Suite instance, providing what Noetix describes as the ideal foundation for standardized, enterprise-wide reporting.
Coupled with enhanced Noetix Generator products, the new row-level security feature of the global views guarantees that the information accessed by E-Business Suite users will be consistent with their data access privileges in Oracle, regardless of the BI tool they are using, states Winterstein, who notes, "We are proud to be the first to offer the automatic application of E-Business Suite data security in reporting for users of SAP BusinessObjects, IBM Cognos, and Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition." Row-level security in the global views allows customers to write reports, deploy them to many people throughout the enterprise, perhaps internationally, and that single report will be secure for each person that runs it, returning only that data that they have privileges for in the E-Business Suite. "For Noetix customers that is very key," Winterstein emphasizes.
According to Noetix, NoetixViews transforms the complexity of the Oracle E-Business Suite database into recognizable business views of data that are used by both IT professionals and business users to create custom reports and ad hoc queries. Using patented Noetix MetaBuilder technology, the views are automatically configured to support customer-specific setups, including key and descriptive flexfields.
An all new application area-based presentation model created by the Noetix Generator family of products organizes the global views in an intuitive, easy to use format, requiring little or no end-user training. The advanced features of the global views are also supported by an updated release of Noetix Search, creating a common experience between report authoring and the content analysis performed by Noetix Search users.
NoetixViews for Oracle E-Business Suite Global Extension is now generally available.
