SAP SE is now enabling customers to deploy and consume SAP Fiori apps across both on premise and cloud architectures to deliver superior mobile app performance.
“Our release is about mobilizing these browser based application so they can be richer on a mobile device,” said Senthil Krishnapillai, head of mobile security technologies at SAP.
By introducing these new options, customers will have the ability to choose the deployment model which best suits their business environment and ensures a secure and rapid deployment option for SAP Fiori apps.
“This leverages our content and cloud capabilities to deliver an application service that makes it simple for our customers to consume Fiori,” Krishnapillai said.
SAP Fiori, cloud edition is a new SAP HANA Cloud Platform service that helps customers to simplify the implementation and adoption of SAP Fiori, which helps renew and modernize customers’ on premise SAP Business Suite.
It is delivered with a limited number of SAP Fiori apps across lines of business, including human resources, customer relationship management (CRM) and retail, covering use cases that are the most frequently and commonly used including manager approvals and employee self-service tasks.
SAP Fiori mobile service is a new SAP HANA Cloud Platform service that helps customers optimize SAP Fiori for mobile performance and productivity, driving increased adoption of apps. The new service provides a guided approach to manage, secure, enable and test SAP Fiori apps.
Together, SAP Fiori, cloud edition and SAP Fiori mobile service can help simplify the adoption and extend the benefits of SAP Fiori across the enterprise.
The new offerings help end users, administrators, and developers to gain simpler access to SAP Fiori apps and a consumer-grade user experience that helps increase productivity by enabling business tasks to be completed from either a desktop or mobile device.
Additionally, administrators gain secure access and authorization to SAP Fiori apps and their data and are able identify, authenticate, and authorize users for the right apps along with managing the entire mobile app lifecycle from design, development, deployment, monitoring, and support.
And developers gain the ability to develop cross platform hybrid apps without the need for writing low-level code.
