Kyndryl’s SASE Services Make Implementing Palo Alto Networks’ Cloud-First, Zero-Trust Solution Seamless

Kyndryl is debuting end-to-end, secure access service edge (SASE) services to help enterprises navigate the constantly evolving technological and threat landscape. Launched to drive adoption of Palo Alto Networks’ Prisma SASE, Kyndryl’s SASE services aim to bring cloud-first, zero-trust security to today’s organizations with ease.

“A lot of companies seeing the evolving threat landscape… [and according to findings from the Kyndryl Readiness Report] people…know they need to change, that there are more and different threats out there, but they are a little unsure of how to go about it,” said Chris McReynolds, VP, global offering management, edge compute and network at Kyndryl.

Kyndryl’s new SASE services tackle that pervasive uncertainty surrounding today’s threats, working to help enterprises transform and modernize with advisory, design and implementation, and management services as they implement SASE technology. This is particularly relevant in today’s increasingly hybrid and remote workforce, as managing and securing these complex and distributed IT environments is difficult to do, yet ever critical.

Offering Kyndryl’s SASE services to drive the adoption of Palo Alto Networks Prisma SASE—powered by Precision AI—affords its customers simplified access to a unified, cloud-delivered service that integrates both network and security.

“Implementing a SASE approach is one of the biggest network and security initiatives for an organization to take on, requiring significant transformation,” said Kristy Friedrichs, chief partnerships officer, Palo Alto Networks. “These organizations need a solution that helps them scale at the speed of their business, especially with a hybrid workforce and an ever-expanding threat landscape. We’re offering our joint customers exactly what they need to help them transform by combining Prisma SASE, the industry’s most complete AI-powered SASE solution, with Kyndryl’s new SASE services.”

Kyndryl’s selection of Prisma SASE is based on its advanced AI capabilities that deliver granular control over user authentication and authorization, ensuring secure access to business applications as well as edge and IoT technologies, according to Kyndryl.

“What we liked about Palo Alto specifically is they had mature core security capabilities,” said McReynolds. “What they do in security is really differentiated, and they do a great job of managing an evolving threat landscape…they use AI to correlate and see changes and different ways [people] try and attack and breach networks…That was a big reason that we went with Palo Alto—their advanced capabilities based on AI that allow us to keep up with that changing landscape.”

At its core, Kyndryl’s SASE services are an amalgamation of experience-driven expertise based on Kyndryl’s own internal transformation and modernization. Kyndryl’s experience is being leveraged to help enterprises migrate to a flexible, scalable SASE solution with best-in-class security—all while maintaining an exceptional user experience for IT teams and end users alike.

These services include:

  • Kyndryl Consult Advisory Services: Offers end-to-end network maturity and network security health assessment of the customer’s existing networking environment, followed by recommendations of the best SASE and zero-trust approach based on the business’s unique needs.
  • Kyndryl Design and Implementation Services: Helps build and examine requirements for the customer’s network modernization, including transition from Security Service Edge (SSE) or SD-WAN services to Palo Alto Networks Prisma SASE. This is further paired with a holistic design and deployment of the customer’s Prisma SASE environment, complete with testing, configuration, and migration of existing users and services, as well as training for self-managed services.
  • Kyndryl Managed SASE Services: Provides end-to-end, 24/7 management of the customer’s platform with Prisma SASE deployed, which includes performing upgrades and health checks, continual optimization work, and integration with existing security operations center (SOC) and network operations center (NOC) platforms.
  • SD-WAN Services integrated with Kyndryl Bridge: Helps customers observe, integrate, and orchestrate their entire technology environment and hybrid IT connectivity.

“It's hard to manage the change even if companies come up with the funding…so now they have money to invest in some of this transformation and modernization, [but] a lot of them don't have the expertise and the experience,” explained McReynolds. “[This announcement is about] leaning on a trusted partner to help you through what is a very difficult change with new technology…a lot of companies want to do this, but they need help.”
