Informatica Creates Blueprint for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Generative AI

Informatica, a leader in enterprise AI-powered cloud data management, announced it has created a new blueprint for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) generative AI (GenAI) to support the deployment and scaling of enterprise-grade GenAI applications.

The AI blueprint enables business and technical users to have conversational experiences with any large language model (LLM).

The integration of Informatica’s Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC) platform with OCI Generative AI and Oracle Database 23ai empowers organizations to establish a trusted data and metadata foundation to power the deployment and scaling of enterprise-grade GenAI applications.

“Informatica’s GenAI solution blueprint for Oracle AI provides critical data management capabilities to deliver RAG processing with fewer hallucinations and more relevant responses,” said Vinod Mamtani, vice president, generative AI services, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. “The Informatica blueprint combined with the expansion of Informatica’s IDMC platform services on OCI, including its Cloud Data Governance and Catalog service and PowerCenter Cloud edition, provides our joint customers with a truly best-of-breed offering for analytics and AI.”

Delivered by Informatica cloud consultants, this latest solution blueprint provides customers with a template for an end-to-end data platform with no-code or low-code retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) chain orchestration?for LLMs.

Key benefits of the AI blueprint include:

  • Grounding of GenAI application inferencing and summaries with enterprise data—providing high-fidelity, trusted responses
  • Prompt enrichment with comprehensive enterprise data and metadata to ensure prompts and responses are contextualized based on industry and organizational semantics
  • Integration of data quality metrics to prioritize data set selection for grounding, helping ensure GenAI applications are based on trusted data
  • No-code orchestration and definition of RAG chain and agent-based GenAI applications, enabling customers to rapidly develop, maintain, and scale GenAI applications
  • Comprehensive data governance, enforcing data access and use policies to deliver enterprise-compliant applications and provide transparency and trust in GenAI applications

Informatica also announced the general availability of Informatica’s Cloud Data Governance and Catalog (CDGC) running on OCI. The pod was designed to deliver clean, secure, trusted data to empower greater analytics, support AI/ML utilization, and accelerate modernization journeys.

According to Informatica, CDGC is now even more powerful with the ability to scan the Oracle GoldenGate 23ai data dictionary, enabling visibility for provenance and lineage for both Oracle and non-Oracle databases, open source, and messaging data stores.

Oracle GoldenGate 23ai manages operational and analytical data replication across industries for the world’s largest, most complex organizations.

Informatica’s PowerCenter Cloud Edition, running on OCI, is now generally available. Customers can benefit from improved flexibility to prioritize and modernize specific PowerCenter asset workloads to OCI at their own pace, helping to reduce risk and costs, according to the vendors.

“As an Oracle preferred partner for data integration and governance, we are excited to continue the expansion of IDMC services available on OCI to bring trusted data and accelerate cloud modernization,” added Gaurav Pathak, vice president of product at Informatica. “Our joint customer base is rapidly growing as we partner with Oracle to unlock the full potential of customer data, analytics, and now Gen AI.”

Informatica’s IDMC platform is available via the Oracle Cloud Marketplace, enabling customers to use their Universal Cloud Credits to purchase IDMC.
