Informatica Corporation, an independent provider of data integration software, announced the general availability of Informatica Cloud Spring 2014, the 19th release of the software since it was first introduced. “Our theme for this release is advanced integration simplified for all,” said Ajay Gandhi, vice president of Cloud Product Marketing at Informatica.
A new capability in this release is the Informatica Cloud Designer, which allows users to perform all of their design work in a 100% cloud environment. The self-service integration design capabilities in Informatica Cloud are intended to make it easier for business analysts, SaaS application administrators, and other line-of-business users to work with each other and with IT.
“With Cloud Spring 2014 we have introduced industry-leading visual design capabilities which enable technical users and line-of-business app users to easily build and deploy advanced cloud and hybrid integration,” Gandhi said.
The new release introduces a drag-and-drop palette that allows IT developers to easily create advanced data transformations, mappings and integration workflows. And, for line-of-business application users, there is a wizard-based self-service interface that allows them to build and deploy integrations using prebuilt templates.
According to the company, Informatica Cloud Spring 2014 advances real-time hybrid app integration. Real-time cloud-to-cloud data integrations, such as Salesforce CRM to NetSuite, are processed in the cloud, but real-time cloud to on-premise integrations, such as Salesforce CRM to SAP, can be processed both in the cloud or on-premise, depending on a customer's own preference and data privacy requirements.
