Infobright Launches Beta Testing for New Approximate Query Functionality

Infobright, a database analytics platform for the Internet of Things, has introduced new Approximate Query functionality for Infobright Enterprise Edition. According to the vendor, Approximate Query helps simplify time-consuming data mining and data investigation processes by enabling users to sample data for query results up to 500 times faster than exact queries.

This functionality provides users with the ability to query large amounts of data with very complex queries while performing data discovery and investigative analytics and returning lightning fast analytics where the results would otherwise be time- and resource-consuming.  “As compelling as this capability is today, we believe that the advent of the Internet of Things will make this type of capability extraordinary,” said Don DeLoach, CEO, Infobright.

According to DeLoach since the Mobile World Congress in 2011, each year more and more companies have been talking about the Internet of Things. “The percentage of companies talking about the Internet of Things can’t get much higher but the volumes certainly getting louder.”

Approximate Query is currently in beta testing and will be available in Infobright Enterprise Edition at the end of the second quarter of 2014. More information can be found at www.infobright.com.
