InetSoft Technology, a company that provides dashboard, reporting, and mashup software, has announced a new release of its flagship business intelligence software application, Style Intelligence. A defining highlight of this release is upgraded data visualization capabilities for geographic charting. Now, business users can enjoy the depth of capabilities found in specialized charting applications as part of an enterprise-class business intelligence solution that also includes interactive dashboards, production reporting, and broad data access.
The mapping of business data has been enhanced to combine multidimensional charting and geographic charting. This allows interactive dashboards to display continuous measures such as population or sales volume by using color ranges across any geographically defined boundary on the local, state and national levels, and even custom-defined areas such as sales regions or political districts.
The integration of mapping and chart engines also allows for the use of multi-charts that compare multiple maps side-by-side, and also permits the combination of data tables alongside visual maps of data so that drilling-down into a region displays custom metrics and detailed data. The end result is a data-rich application of geospatial mapping that makes finding answers and drawing conclusions from large data sets a much more efficient task for a business user.
Mark Flaherty, vice president of marketing at InetSoft, tells 5 Minute Briefing that "the leading feature enhancement in Style Intelligence version 10.2 is the ability to do mapping and geographic analysis. The mapping has multidimensional capability such that a user can perform thematic coloring, use different sizings, and create list filters similar to pivot tables. The integrated solution also enables users to drill down into the map and have the new detail be displayed in associated tables."
InetSoft's business intelligence software application, Style Intelligence, is a full-featured business intelligence solution that is 100% Java at the server level, and HTML, JavaScript, and Flash at the client level. That, combined with its SOA architecture and open standards-based technology, makes for an ideal embedding and integration-ready application for dashboards and reporting. End users get visually compelling, highly interactive access to data, while solution providers get a highly customizable, easy to learn and quick to deploy business intelligence toolset and information delivery platform.
