Idera, a provider of application and server management solutions announced the availability of SQL secure 2.7, the latest version of a solution that helps DBAs improve security and ensure compliance with corporate and industry audit requirements.
In addition to supporting SQL Server 2012, the new release helps IT administrators easily and quickly ensure compliance by providing weak password detection and analysis; policy templates for reporting on SQL Server permissions as required by the Payment Card Industry (PCI) and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA); support for FIPS 140 (Federal Information Processing Standards); and automated auditing of security models and reports of who has access to what, and how permissions are granted on SQL servers.
“SQL secure eases the compliance burden by enabling a DBA to go back and link directly to the specific regulatory citation and automatically audit and record the required permissions and security policy data,” says Juan Rogers, product manager for SQL Server Security Solutions at Idera. “When the auditors come knocking, a DBA who uses SQL secure is ready with the report in hand.”
