IDERA has released SQL Query Store Optimizer, a new tool in its portfolio of database monitoring tools to help database administrators (DBAs) manage and troubleshoot SQL Query Stores.
The free tool aggregates the Query Stores of all databases per instance into one single actionable interface.
SQL Query Store is a new feature offered in SQL Server 2016 that allows DBAs to see which queries ran when, how often and with what performance results to optimize queries and query plan selection. But, according to IDERA, the solution also has limitations, including possible interruptions and inefficiencies, troubleshooting and tuning issues and visibility into only eight of 12 Query Store properties per database.
According to IDERA, SQL Query Store Optimizer simplifies troubleshooting by allowing DBAs to quickly see all 12 Query Store properties in all databases per instance in a single actionable interface, saving potentially hundreds of clicks and many hours researching custom SQL code.
With SQL Query Store Optimizer, IDERA aims to help DBAs improve the performance of complex queries, and make their work less complicated, said Sandi Warren, director of product marketing at IDERA, who noted that, while highly useful, Microsoft’s graphical user interface in the SQL Server 2016 Query Store technology only provides DBAs limited control of the property settings.
IDERA now has more than 22 free tools in its portfolio of database monitoring tools. For more information on IDERA SQL Query Store Optimizer, visit www.idera.com/productssolutions/freetools/sql-query-store-optimizer.
