Garantia Data has announced the general availability of its Redis Cloud and Memcached Cloud database hosting services. According to the vendor, these are fully-automated, in-memory NoSQL cloud services offering Memcached and Redis data store systems. With pay-as-you-go pricing, Garantia Data charges users according to the size of their datasets rather than by cloud instances to avoid over-provisioning of RAM resources and allow users to pay for what they actually consume.
Redis and Memcached are open source, RAM-based, key-value memory stores that are used by both enterprise developers and startups. “We provide infinite scalability whereby we overcome the Redis scalability limitation. Redis today is limited to just one master server. We overcome this limitation and we offer continuous and fully automated scalability for the user’s dataset,” Ofer Bengal, CEO of Garantia Data, tells 5 Minute Briefing. This frees developers form dealing with nodes, clusters, scaling, data-persistence and failure recovery and provides true auto-scalability and instant failover.
Redis datasets can grow to any size while supporting all Redis commands due to infinite scalability. Memcached Cloud provides a storage engine and full replication capabilities to standard Memcached. These services both offer true high-availability with instant failover, and they run a dataset on multiple CPUs with high performance at any dataset size. “We offer true high availability which means that the user can replicate in real time the dataset to the database within the same availability zone or the same data center in the cloud,” Bengal explains.
