Larry Okeson, the owner of Software Search, is retiring after 36 years of being at the helm, and will be succeeded by Caroline Okeson, his daughter-in-law and senior recruiter/branch manager for Software Search.
Software Search is an information technology recruiting agency specializing in the nationwide recruitment, placement, and contracting of IT professionals. The company currently has a diverse group of more than 1,000 client companies that range from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies.
Larry Okeson began his professional career in 1960 in Sales Support with International Multifoods in Minneapolis, MN. After 5 years with International Multifoods, he moved on to Sylvania Electric where he became Distribution Center Manager.
He began Software Search in 1978, but did not move to their eventual Atlanta, GA home base until 1986. “Larry was tireless. He was at every meeting and knew all of his employees on a personal level. He was an out going person with a “never take no” attitude and that is how he grew the company and did so well,” said Caroline Okeson. She will be taking over her father-in-law’s role and plans on continuing business.
“I plan on continuing to work in the MultiValue market, but we do all IT and are not just focused in one area,” she said. “We are going to continue to focus on building the relationships with our clients and our candidates.”
