Fireproof, developer of open-source database technology, announced it has closed its pre-seed funding round, enabling the company to further support the launch of Fireproof Cloud—a platform designed to make database management easy for everyone, while offering industry leading data integrity and portability.
Fireproof leverages cutting-edge Merkle CRDTs to empower developers with a zero-setup database that can run on any platform and sync data anywhere with cryptographic proofs.
Developers are using Fireproof for collaborative applications ranging from chat, gaming, and generative AI, to hedge fund trading strategy workflows and insurance contract configurators. Fireproof allows developers to start in any JavaScript environment and sync to any backend.
Ashmeet Sidana, chief engineer at Engineering Capital, led the round.

Along with the investment from Engineering Capital, Fireproof is adding a new board member, Steven Mih, Roia co-founder and CEO and former co-founder and CEO of Ahana.
