At Oracle OpenWorld, F5 Networks, Inc., announced that its BIG-IP solutions have achieved Oracle Database and WebLogic Ready status through the Oracle PartnerNework (OPN), demonstrating that F5 has fully tested and supports BIG-IP version 10 products on Oracle Database 11g Release 2 and Oracle WebLogic 11g Release 1.
Traditionally, when customers have thought about F5 solutions, they thought about a load balancer at the web tier and the application tier, but only recently has the company been developing solutions at the database tier, Ron Carovano, senior business development manager at F5, tells 5 Minute Briefing.
"Earning this credential provides additional legitimacy from the world's leading provider of enterprise class databases that F5 does bring value there," says Carovano.
Emphasizing that the credential was earned not only for Oracle Database but also Weblogic, Carovano says, this should give customers confidence in deploying F5 with Oracle Database and application server technologies whether that may be on a traditional server platform or on the more advanced platforms like Exalogic and Exadata.
