Today's best-in-class applications can provide new or improved capabilities for your MultiValue system. Often these are cloud-based or even mobile applications that can modernize specific areas of your organization.
Popular examples include: Customer Relationship Management, eCommerce Storefronts, Warehouse Management, Transportation logistics, and Service Management.
The challenge is integrating these applications with your MultiValue system in real-time while maximizing security, data access and enforcement of your business rules.
The good news is that Kore Technologies provides a real-time integration platform called Kourier REST that is designed for this purpose.
DBTA recently held a webinar with Mark Dobransky, managing partner, Kore Technologies and Keith Lambert, VP marketing and business development, Kore Technologies, who discussed how Kourier REST can extend and modernize the MultiValue system via integration to other applications using RESTful Web Services.
The Kourier Integrator Data Management suite can benefit manufacturing, distribution, higher education, dealership management, and health care, Dobransky and Lambert explained.
The suite of products offers:
- Near Real-Time / CDC
- Multi-Source / DBMS
- Point in Time
- SQL Automation
- Real-Time via REST
- API Subscriptions
- Inbound/Outbound
- Asynchronous/Batch
- Data Sharing
- Data Archiving
- Data Migration
- Data Cleansing
- ERP Adaptors
- Storefront/Portal
- Marketplace
- EDI
The platform can modernize current MV systems that customers may be using by extending the U2 system with new or improved capabilities, replacing old functionality with third party integration, adding new functionality with SaaS or cloud applications, adding a web-based portal or web user interface, and integrating niche/edge mobile applications, Dobransky and Lambert said.
Inbound Integration REST-as-Server can enable other applications to integrate with your U2 system via REST APIs. It can also create and publish REST APIs for U2 applications, leveraging application logic and business rules, along with providing bi-directional integration with secure and rated read/write access to U2 data.
Outbound Integration REST-as-Client can enable the U2 system to talk with REST APIs from other applications and offers bi-directional integration with other applications via their published REST APIs. This method also uses application connectors (MTAs) and adaptors to send and receive data from/to the U2 application.
Kourier REST-as-Server enables secure access to UniData/UniVerse application data via published REST APIs, Dobransky and Lambert said.
Advantages of Using Kourier REST for the developer includes more productivity using Framework; offers mostly configuration, not coding; web dev knowledge is not required; provides integrated API testing capabilities, and more.
And the advantages for the API consumer include well documented APIs via Swagger; reduced time and cost of integration; developer-friendly APIs (HATEOAS), and more.
Kourier REST-as-Client allows users to integrate and share data with external applications using their published APIs.
