Experts Discuss the Agile Data Journey in 2022

At a time when business agility is as important as ever, new technology trends in DevOps, cloud, automation, and data management are increasingly merging as organizations look to streamline complex processes and increase the time-to-value of new initiatives.

This agile journey is about removing the barriers between the business and its customers, as well as its data and employees, to accelerate the delivery of business value. However, challenges remain, from scalability issues to poor visibility between teams and difficulties managing the growing complexity of the cloud and microservices world.

DBTA recently held a webinar with Lonnie Haire, solution architect, Digital.ai; Kieran Dunbar, customer success engineer, ChaosSearch; and Lenore Adam, director of product marketing, Delphix, who discussed the latest strategies and innovative solutions.

Success requires more than just a tool, Haire explained. According to the State of Agile Report presented by Digital.ai, growth in agile adoption within software development teams, increased from 37% in 2020 to 86% in 2021. More than ever, organizations are under increasing pressure to deliver features that provide greater value and new solutions that improve efficiency and reliability, he said.

Team identities and clear interaction paradigms matter. Platform teams are key to success at scale, he noted. “We simply have too much data for humans to process and yet we must have data-driven conversations and make data-driven decisions. AI can be leveraged for insights into both flow and realization,” he said.

Moving forward this year, it’s important to unify, secure, and generate predictive insights across the software lifecycle to empower teams, propel innovation, and enhance business value. Automate the flow of value across the software delivery lifecycle. Optimize to become both effective and efficient.

Dunbar recommended solutions from ChaosSearch. ChaosSearch helps modern organizations “Know Better” by activating the data lake for analytics. The ChaosSearch Data Lake Platform indexes customers’ cloud data, rendering it fully searchable and enabling analytics at scale with massive reductions of time, cost and complexity.

Unlimited data retention enables users to analyze more data for longer term trend analysis and optimization - at much lower cost, Dunbar said.

Another platform for the future is Delphix. The Delphix DevOps Data Platform accelerates digital transformation while governing data privacy and securing data from ransomware and other criminal attacks, according to Adam.

Delphix provides essential data APIs for DevOps, including data provisioning, refresh, rewind, integration, and version control. Delphix supports all apps from mainframe to cloud native across the multi-cloud, including SaaS, private and public clouds.
