Dell Boomi is releasing an enhanced version of its integration Platform as a Service (iPaaS) to help organizations rapidly and cost-effectively integrate data across applications in hybrid IT environments.
The latest release enables Boomi customers to build a connected business at scale through new features to increase user productivity, speed up implementation, and provide unparalleled control of integrations.
“This brings together over 200 plus new and enhanced features that span the different offerings that we have as part of the Boomi platform,” said Brett Stineman, head of product marketing at Dell Boomi.
In this release, Boomi delivers an enhanced UI to support highly complex, multi-step integration processes. The UI can be reconfigured to show or hide different configuration components and a floating navigation window can be used to orient users when working on large or complex integration processes. Additional improvements include more robust search functions and embedded help.
“There’s no coding required, it’s all visual, UI, drag and drop, experiences that customers have,” Stineman said. “We’ve really doubled down on ease-of-use and spent a lot of time listening to our customers, hearing things they would like to see in the UI.”
This release also expands Boomi’s list of pre-built Boomi Connectors for popular applications and cloud services, adding connectors for Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3), Amazon Simple Notification Service (SNS), DoubleClick by Google, Intuit QuickBooks 2016, Magento, Marketo, Microsoft Azure SQL Database and SQL Data Warehouse, Microsoft Azure Blob Storage, Slack, SugarCRM, and UltiPro, as well as a MQTT technology connector.
“Building out these connectors allow users to much more easily figure out how to tie into those different systems,” Stineman said.
Improvements have also been made to existing application connectors for Microsoft Dynamics CRM, Hobsons, NetSuite, Oracle Taleo Cloud Service, Salesforce, and SAP, along with enhancing the database, HTTP, JMS, and SFTP technology connectors.
New enhancements to the cloud include Boomi’s new API deployment management console. This upgrade offers a central screen to view and manage all deployed APIs.
Additionally, the upgrade introduces source ranking, which is a way to rank contributing source applications such as Salesforce, Netsuite and Workday by field.
With source ranking, users can configure the MDM capability to automatically reject changes to a field if a higher-ranked application has already provided a value for that field.
IT and business analysts will benefit the most from these updates, according to Stineman.
