Deep Instinct, the prevention-first cybersecurity company, is releasing Deep Instinct Prevention for Storage (DPS), applying a prevention-first approach to storage protection, wherever data is stored—Network Attached Storage (NAS), hybrid, or public cloud environments.
The solution seamlessly integrates into existing environments to deliver unparalleled efficacy and accuracy along with enterprise-grade scalability, according to the company.
“In today’s evolving threat landscape, threat actors are already leveraging AI to create malware that continuously changes in order to evade detection from traditional cybersecurity tools,” said Yariv Fishman, chief product officer at Deep Instinct. “The only way to future-proof your organization, and its data, is to prioritize protection and security of unstructured storage systems—blocking attacks from ever landing in your environment. With the launch of DPS, our customers can now prevent attacks on data repositories and safeguard the integrity and security of their stored data.”
As part of the Deep Instinct Prevention Platform, DPS fills gaps in data protection by applying a unique DL framework dedicated to cybersecurity.
Whenever a file is added or changed in a storage environment, it is scanned immediately. Malicious files are either quarantined or deleted to prevent execution.
DPS is differentiated from the legacy tools on the market today in the following ways:
- Seamless Integration – To ensure smooth deployment and interoperability the solution natively integrates with leading platforms, including Dell EMC (CAVA) and NetApp (VScan).
- Improved Efficiency and Lower TCO – More than half of security professionals say their stress levels have increased with false positives accounting for over two working days of lost productivity per week. With DPS, security teams are equipped with >99% efficacy in preventing unknown threats, a <0.1% false positive rate, and <20 milliseconds file scan time.
- Ease of Management – DPS is managed via a single console alongside Deep Instinct for Endpoints (DPE) and Deep Instinct Prevention for Applications (DPA). The product supports easy-to-manage policies enabling security teams to control and manage remediation actions. These include quarantine or deletion of malicious files, and the ability to restore from quarantine if needed.
- Compliance Ready – DPS proactively enables organizations to meet compliance requirements, including the recent SEC guidelines that require organizations to provide annual cybersecurity risk management, strategy, and disclosures of any cybersecurity incidents. All file scans are logged for easy tracking and reporting. For each malicious file, detailed events are sent to the management console, allowing further investigation of prevented attacks.
DPS for cloud storage, specifically AWS S3, will provide organizations with a holistic approach for storage security across public clouds. This is a critical need for organizations as the amount of data being stored in public and hybrid cloud environments continues to grow exponentially.
While cloud vendors protect the storage itself, they do not ensure the integrity or safety of files stored. Deep Instinct safeguards data wherever it is stored with unparalleled efficacy, accuracy, and enterprise-grade scalability, according to the company.
