Software GmbH, the holding entity of the Software AG group, is announcing the closing of sales of Alfabet and Cumulocity, following the entity’s previous divestments of webMethods, StreamSets, and TrendMiner this past summer. As a result, Adabas & Natural (A&N)—the provider of high-performance, non-relational transactional database software—and ARIS—the provider of business process intelligence SaaS solutions—are planned to operate as standalone businesses.
A&N’s database software processes billions of transactions for businesses across a variety of platforms, including mainframe, Linux, and the cloud. ARIS, on the other hand, offers cloud-native process modeling and process mining solutions that help enterprises effectively manage their entire process lifecycles.
Software AG group and Software GmbH’s foreseeable strategy is to position A&N and ARIS as standalone companies, each led by individual management teams. Both companies are making investments into their product innovation and talent, supercharging their overall growth.
This decision comes as a result of Sanjay Brahmawar stepping down as Software GmbH’s CEO. Having driven the acquisitions of StreamSets and webMethods, as well as the divestments of TrendMiner, Cumulocity, and Alfabet, Brahmawar’s relinquishment reflects the advancement of the A&N and ARIS standalone business strategy.
“We want to thank Sanjay for driving the transformation of Software AG and are very grateful for his substantial contributions to the success of the company since we partnered with him and the Software AG team in 2022,” said Christian Lucas, managing partner of Silver Lake and chairman of the supervisory board of Software GmbH. “Looking ahead, we are excited to invest in both ARIS and Adabas & Natural and their world class products and support their multi-year growth acceleration plans as independent companies.”
