DataOps.live, The Data Products Company, is announcing an extension of their technology integration with Informatica, the provider of enterprise cloud data management. This expansion—characterized by new orchestration support for Informatica Cloud Data Governance and Catalog (CDGC)—increases the visibility of metadata and its lineage, empowering customers with up-to-date metadata that allows them to rapidly react to changes during the development cycle, according to the companies.
The Orchestrator for Informatica's Cloud Data Governance and Catalog—which was created in collaboration with Projective Group, a leading financial services change specialist—publishes all metadata and lineage captured by a DataOps pipeline, creating a better picture of metadata available to the catalog. This helps strengthen the collaboration between data product owners, data stewards, and data engineering teams, enabling Snowflake customers using Informatica and DataOps.live to rapidly deliver tested, trusted, and backwards-compatible data products, according to the companies.
"Our new support for Informatica Cloud Data Governance and Catalog is a direct response to demands from our customers who are looking to incorporate active metadata in their data catalog solutions," said Thomas Steinborn, SVP of products at DataOps.live. "By expanding our coverage for Informatica's data integration to data catalog offerings, customers will be able to shorten development cycles, avoid breaking backward compatibility, and increase trust between business stakeholders and data teams, while supporting critical business processes with greater agility and integration."
This collaborative solution reflects DataOps.live’s continued partnership with Projective Group, utilizing the company’s knowledge and experience in Informatica and Snowflake to support their mutual customers, according to DataOps.live.
"This technology spectrum spanning DataOps.live, Snowflake, and Informatica is the perfect opportunity for Projective Group to provide deep domain knowledge and real-world experience to ensure our mutual customers' success,” said Steve Jenkings, head of data engineering at Projective Group. “We are eager to deliver this best-of-breed solution to the market, including for Snowflake native apps and data products, and to continue working alongside our partners to drive progress and innovation.”
The Orchestrator for Informatica's CDGC offers three key features:
- Active push of new metadata and data lineage designed to support near-real-time feedback loops
- Coverage of the entire development lifecycle from development to production
- Comprehensive integration with the entire data ecosystem powered by Informatica and Snowflake
The Orchestrator for Informatica's CDGC builds off of the success of DataOps.live’s previously introduced Informatica Cloud Taskflow Orchestrator, a capability that empowers engineering and operations teams to seamlessly orchestrate data integration and transformation process within Snowflake through the utility of Informatica. This feature—which has been successfully adopted by a multitude of customers—improves the efficiency and control of data workflows while simultaneously persisting smooth and effective built, test, and lifecycle management of complicated data pipelines, according to DataOps.live.
