Thoma Bravo, LLC has formally completed its acquisition of Compuware Corporation and implemented its previously announced plan to separate the company's mainframe and application performance management (APM) businesses — with the mainframe business carrying the Compuware name.
With this, the company claims, Compuware is now the largest software company in the world exclusively devoted to optimizing customers' IBM mainframe environments.
Former Compuware president of mainframe operations has been named Compuware's CEO. "As a standalone mainframe-committed ISV, Compuware can be the software partner that large enterprises so desperately need as they face the daunting challenge of protecting and advancing their indispensable IBM System z intellectual property — consisting of programs and data — in a relentlessly disruptive digital economy," said O'Malley.
