CA Technologies and Microsoft are expanding their alliance. The companies say the goal is to help broaden enterprise cloud utility across a multi-platform IT environment to help organizations improve business services and manage costs. The first CA solution featuring Microsoft Azure is CA Cloud Storage for System z.
“Hybrid enterprise environments are the norm today and CIOs need to bridge and connect those systems to provide improved value and cost efficiencies to the business. Our extended alliance with Microsoft will help our shared customers optimize their hybrid IT environment and combine mainframe capabilities with Azure to provide the flexibility and agility required to respond to critical business needs,” said Michael Madden, general manager, Mainframe, CA Technologies.
CA says that Cloud Storage for System z, when used with Azure and a third party cloud storage appliance, can help enterprise customers improve business service delivery by storing, accessing, retrieving and recovering z/OS data more quickly and easily. It is designed to help reduce costs by eliminating the need to over-invest in storage capacity for future growth. Connecting data centers to dynamic storage clouds gives enterprises fast and flexible access to capacity when needed.
“Our alliance with CA Technologies is an important part of our cloud partner ecosystem and expands the capabilities of Azure for large organizations,” said Steve Guggenheimer, corporate vice president, Microsoft Corp. “By linking on-premises servers with the cloud, enterprises can respond more quickly to business demands, realizing the cost-saving benefits of the cloud.”
