The ability to create connected datasets is becoming one of the biggest competitive differentiators in enterprise operations. But with the rapid growth of the API economy and SaaS applications, this is easier said than done.
Today's data teams must find an alternative to the limited selection of third-party connectors or the maintenance burdens of self-hosted solutions.
DBTA held a webinar with Jason Tolu, principal senior product marketing manager, Matillion; Corné Human, product marketing manager, Matillion; and Paul Johnson, director of product management, Matillion, who discussed how to take a different approach to data connectivity and integration.
Data is everywhere and is more distributed with more sources, Tolu explained. According to Domo, “Data Never Sleeps 6.0,” every human created 1.7 MB of data every second in 2020. This equates to 2.5 quinitillion bytes per day.
Speed is essential, analytics–ready datasets need to get into the business faster than ever, said Tolu. Enterprise SaaS is the ultimate distribution driver. The number SaaS tools in the market have tripled in first 5 years of last decade.
Projects take too long and cost too much. According to Gartner, “More than 50% of data migration projects are expected to exceed budget and timeline.”
Human said Matillion’s Universal Data Loading is the solution. The platform empowers SaaS potential. It allows enterprise teams to harness every market innovation in niche software.
The platform can unlock new data products by enabling the capture and enrichment of operational data in analytics data stores for data-as-a-service applications.
And the platform can accelerate analytics by providing easy setup and maintenance that helps data engineers focus on higher value tasks, Johnson noted.
