Boomi Launches Boomi GPT, a GenAI Solution Designed to Make Building Integrations Easier for Everyone


Boomi, the intelligent connectivity and automation leader, is unveiling the first solution within its Boomi AI suite, Boomi GPT, a generative AI (genAI) solution that enables enterprises to integrate and automate faster and easier than ever before.

Bringing the power of conversational AI to the Boomi platform, Boomi GPT is designed to make integration easier for all of its customers by using natural language as a means to build integration patterns, APIs, or master data models.

“Organizations are working around the clock to deliver innovative products and services that exceed customer expectations while applying extensive connectivity and automation to streamline operations and reduce costs,” said Ed Macosky, chief product and technology officer at Boomi. “With Boomi AI, organizations can dramatically accelerate and democratize this work, turning natural language requests into integrations and connections that are critical for application modernization and cloud migration.”

Acting as a knowledgeable assistant, or “copilot,” Boomi GPT generates an outline of the requested integration or software, from which users are then able to accept or modify. The result is efficient and rapid connection building and automation, ultimately empowering successful business outcomes with less manual labor.

The goal is “to make integration and automation easier and easier for anybody to use, whether it's a person who's in IT doing the setup of integrations, or it's a line of business persona that's trying to set up a more high-level, abstracted view on what they want to accomplish,” said Mike Bachman, head of architecture and AI strategy at Boomi.

Internally, Boomi GPT is trained on Boomi’s foundational model, not an external one. This grounds the model and its responses to the data that Boomi feeds into the model themselves, resulting in minimized hallucinations.

“By grounding the responses that one could get, we're minimizing the amount of creativity that a foundation model would have,” Bachman said.

In addition to introducing conversational AI to the Boomi platform, Boomi is also dedicated to educating customers about AI to ensure their overall readiness.

“We're noticing, out in the field, everybody wants to adopt AI and we need to take a measured pragmatic view of this,” said Bachman. “So what Boomi is also doing is investing a lot of time and resources in simply getting customers to go from AI-curious, to AI-ready, to AI-infused [instead of] just throwing AI at anything around.”
