The alliance answers an emerging market need, Matt Benati, vice president of global marketing, Attunity, tells 5 Minute Briefing. “Customers are asking for this kind of total solution, and neither company has it in their core competency to do what the other one does.”
Attunity MFT provides policy-based inspection, scanning and routing capabilities, which when paired with KOM Network’s KOMpliance, an enterprise-level, regulatory-compliant, networked storage appliance, results in a complete solution that enables companies to transfer, retain, protect and access their data in one platform, while also meeting regulatory and corporate compliance requirements
“KOM Networks provides the archival vault but what they don’t have is a data pump, and so we leverage Attunity’s Managed File Transfer to be that pump. Attunity’s MFT can handle any kind of source, do full auditing and it is highly secure; it can go within an enterprise and across enterprises. It is really a full-featured data delivery solution and that is what KOM Networks was thirsty for,” notes Benati.
The combined solution addresses the concern, as an example, of insurance and brokerage companies which collect recordings of telephone conversations with staff or distributed call centers, and need to archive the recordings for auditing purposes, says Benati, “It is very important for these companies that are security- and risk-conscious.”
