Actian Corp. has completed the acquisition of Pervasive. The agreement for Actian to acquire Pervasive was announced earlier this year.
Actian provides data management solutions to help companies transact, analyze, and take automated action across their business operations. Actian products include Action Apps, Vectorwise, the analytical database, Ingres, an independent mission-critical OLTP database, in addition to the Versant Object Database, which Actian added to its portfolio through another recent merger in which Actian acquired all the outstanding shares of Versant Corporation. Pervasive provides software to manage, integrate and analyze data, in the cloud or on premises, throughout the data lifecycle.
“We have irrevocably passed from the Age of Software to the Age of Data, in which organizations need to adopt contemporary architectures to master data ubiquity, on premise and in the cloud,” said Mike Hoskins, chief technology officer of Actian, as part of a statement released by the company to announce that the acquisition had closed. “Every organization wants to make faster, more accurate and better decisions. In a world of staggeringly huge and constant data flows, innovators can drive better decision making than has ever been possible – based not only on the past and present, but on predictions of future events.”
