AWS announced the general availability of AWS Database Migration Service (AWS DMS) Serverless, a platform that automatically provisions and scales migration resources to make database migrations easier.
With AWS DMS Serverless, users can replicate data across a wide variety of popular database and analytics engines and services, such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, Amazon Redshift, Amazon DynamoDB, Amazon Aurora, and more.
AWS DMS Serverless manages the undifferentiated database migration work, minimizing the need to manually estimate, provision, monitor, and scale resources. Users can now start migrations within hours and save money by paying only for the data migration resources used, according to the company.
AWS DMS Serverless is ideal for even the most complex database migration projects or for ongoing data replications. It automatically provisions optimal capacity, then monitors and adjusts capacity up or down to match database transaction volume. By staying within the capacity limits set, AWS DMS Serverless optimizes performance while providing cost predictability as needed.
AWS DMS Serverless is now available in all AWS Regions, except China (Beijing, operated by Sinnet), China (Ningxia, operated by NWCD), AWS GovCloud (US-East), and AWS GovCloud (US-West). Get started by logging on to the AWS Management Console.
