OVA Members Come Out in Force at Red Hat Summit

The Open Virtualization Alliance (OVA) made its presence known at the recent Red Hat Summit. The OVA, a Bronze Sponsor of the event, hosted a networking reception for the 27 participating members, and the Open Virtualization Alliance booth allowed many OVA members to promote their company’s success stories around KVM, as well as highlight the benefits of being an OVA member.

Jean Staten Healy, director, WW Linux and Open Virtualizaton, IBM, moderated a KVM ecosystem panel discussion featuring Wes Ganeko, IBM STG North American System x sales executive; Dmitri Joukovski, vice president of Product Management, Acronis; Carl Trieloff, director, Open Source and Standards, senior consulting engineer, Red Hat; and Gilad Zlotkin, vice president, Virtualization and Management, Radware.  The discussion showcased the value of the KVM ecosystem, as well as how the technology is gaining momentum and interest in the marketplace.

Fifteen OVA member companies also participated in the Passport Program in which Summit attendees picked up “passports” in the OVA booth that took them on a journey to visit OVA members in their booths thus enabling them to learn more about the OVA members’ solutions. OVA members donated prizes, ranging from Kindles to remote control helicopters, which were awarded to attendees who successfully filled up their passports after visiting member booths.
