Federal agencies have a mandate to provide a highly available and secure I/T infrastructure to provide services in an increasingly mobile environment. Challenges that agencies face today include architectural complexity, network latency, reduced availability, and steep software costs that outweigh the advantages of a scale out architecture. This session discusses a vertically-scalable platform for running massive applications and a horizontally-scalable platform for consolidating hundreds of low-capacity servers that will increase security, service delivery, and provide economic advantages to meet today's CIO office mandates.
