KVM and VMware virtualization technology are used to enable clients to run multiple virtual machines with Linux or Windows images depending on their needs. IBM SmartCloud Provisioning software enables SLTN to simplify management and delivery of virtual machines on either KVM or VMware and provide clients with rapid access to cloud-based services. Virtualization has allowed Dutch Cloud to dramatically increase its revenue, while keeping operational costs in check. “Virtualization is key for us,” says Martijn Van Zoeren, CEO of Dutch Cloud, who points out that it is also important that the SmartCloud Provisioning layer is not dependent on a certain hypervisor thus making it possible for the company to use KVM, Hyper-V, and VMware in the mix.
