The International Sybase User Group, a trade association representing more than 6,000 members in more than 60 countries around the globe, has announced that voting is now open for the 2009 ISUG Journal Award.
The award recognizes the top authors from the 2008 issues of the ISUG Technical Journal as chosen by the readership. Each article from 2008 was placed into one of two categories: "Data Management" and "Design and Development." The winners will be announced at the Sybase TechWave Symposium in Washington, D.C. on August 26.
"This is a great way for our members to show their appreciation to our authors who work extremely hard to provide the level of technical information in their pieces that our readers most appreciate," said Bryan Enochs, ISUG President.
Voting is open until midnight Pacific Time on July 31. Current readers of the ISUG Technical Journal can participate in the voting here.
"This will be the fourth consecutive year for this award and it's a pleasure to see so many respected authors on the ballot this time around," noted Mike Harrold, Executive Director, ISUG. "This proves that many of the foremost experts in the ISUG community recognize the value that the ISUG Journal provides to its readers, as well as demonstrating its importance to them both personally and professionally."
First presented in 2006, the ISUG Technical Journal Award recognizes outstanding contributions to the ISUG Technical Journal from authors published the prior calendar year. Previous winners include Jeff Tallman, Paul Vero, Ken Howe, Breck Carter, Buck Woolley, Terry Voth, Stefan Karlsson, Kevin Sherlock and John Strano.
