Still young in years and sprightly in his step, "veteran" ISUG member Larry Eppley is the winner of ISUG's membership drawing for March, 2010. A member for more than a decade, Eppley has engaged in all manner of ISUG-related activities over the years from user group meetings, to TechWave events and the online forum discussion opportunities.
"I just upgraded my personal laptop and this will definitely be a welcome addition," said Eppley upon being informed of his win. "I've been a member of ISUG for many years and consider it to be a great user group, and appreciate all the value it provides to the Sybase community."
Drawn from time-to-time throughout the year, this highly popular contest may be a game of luck, but is still taken very seriously by the community who are always keen to see what prizes ISUG will make available to the winner. Larry himself wins a 500GB portable hard disk to keep his backups regular and extend his personal data library.
"The prize draw may seem like a small part of the total ISUG membership offering; but we believe that every little element of our user community engagement process counts towards the sum of a truly comprehensive proposition that helps both DBAs, developers and other IT professionals to get the most out of working with Sybase technologies," said Mike Harrold, ISUG executive director.
Past winners of the drawing include Leigh Thompson (June 2009), Robert McMillion (Q3 2009), and Anthony Mandic (Q4 2009).
