The percentage of Oracle users virtualizing their critical database infrastructure has exponentially increased in recent years. The landmark survey of the Independent Oracle Users Group (IOUG) conducted in 2014 “The Empowered Database” quantified the precipitous adoption rate of VMware vSphere as the virtualization platform trusted by more Oracle users than all other virtualization technologies combined.
VMware is continuing its tradition of empowering Oracle users by sponsoring the IOUG Special interest group the “VMware SIG” as well as sponsoring a booth at Oracle Open World where they will again be discussing the value of running Oracle software on a true platform of virtualized hardware.
