Charles Pack, Technical Director of Infrastructure Architecture for CSX Technology, based in Jacksonville, FL. His current responsibilities include the strategic plan for servers, storage, disaster recovery, and Open Source Software. Charles joined CSX Technology in 1999 as an Oracle database administrator, and has had the opportunity to work as a Project Manager, Architect, and people manager. He has worked on enterprise content management, systems performance and capacity planning, SharePoint collaboration, storage& backup management, and numerous special projects. He is co-captain of the CSX cycling team, supporting the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and the Northeast Florida Chapter.
Prior to joining CSX, Charles worked for Koch Industries in the Oil Refining group; for the State of Texas, and in Healthcare technology.
Charles earned the Bachelor of Science degree from Oklahoma State University, the MBA from The University of Oklahoma, and the Masters of Science in Computer Science from Texas A&M, Corpus Christi.
Charles is the current president of the North Florida Oracle Users Group, has authored or co-authored several Oracle certification guides, and is a regular presenter at the Independent Oracle Users Group Collaborate conference.
