Hazelcast announced version 5.0 of the Hazelcast platform is now available for general release, merging IMDG and Jet solutions along with introducing a host of new features. In a blog post, Matko Medenjak, engineering manager at Hazelcast, reports that after the beta release of 5.0, Hazelcast has made an effort to make the product adhere to the stability and production-ready standards which are expected from any Hazelcast release.

Oracle has announced the availability of the Oracle Exadata X9M platforms, the latest version of its systems for running Oracle Database. The new Exadata X9M offerings include Oracle Exadata Database Machine X9M and Exadata Cloud@Customer X9M—a platform that runs Oracle Autonomous Database in customer data centers. "For X9M we adopted the latest CPUs, networking, and storage hardware, and optimized our software to deliver dramatically faster performance," said Juan Loaiza, executive vice president, mission-critical database technologies, Oracle.
