The idea became part of mainstream consciousness with the release of The Matrix in 1999, in which the protagonist turned out to be living in a simulation indistinguishable from the real thing.

Surely it is time for a new generation of intelligent data modeling to step up and enable advertisers and marketers to target consumers more accurately.
