Regardless of the survey respondents' ages or roles, security and compliance were cited as top concerns, with 77% of participants saying they have had a finding or potential breach, and 92% reporting being audited every 2 years.

Google has announced a strategic partnership with Poland's Domestic Cloud Provider (DCP). As part of this partnership, DCP, which was founded jointly by PKO Bank Polski and the Polish Development Fund, will become a reseller of Google Cloud services in Poland and will build managed services capabilities around Google Cloud.

Skytap, provider of a global public service purpose-built for migrating and running traditional applications in the cloud, has announced a new collaboration with Microsoft to bring its purpose-built cloud service for legacy applications, including IBM POWER-based solutions, to Microsoft Azure. The service will provide support for heterogeneous application stacks, including native support for POWER workloads running on AIX, IBM i, and Linux. Skytap will preview its service on a new class of Microsoft Azure bare metal this year.

Woolpert is launching STREAM:RASTER, a subscription software service that hosts and facilitates access to geospatial imagery in the cloud. Customers can upload raster data to STREAM:RASTER and it creates tile caches of the data that is ready for use in GIS and web mapping software. Customers are then able to manage and control access to their proprietary imagery in STREAM:RASTER, with support and a service level agreement from Woolpert.

Amid a flurry of announcements at its annual OpenWorld conference, Oracle announced the Exadata Database Machine X8M which combines Intel Optane DC persistent memory and 100 gigabit remote direct memory access (RDMA) over Converged Ethernet (RoCE) to remove storage bottlenecks and increase performance for the most demanding workloads such as Online Transaction Processing (OLTP), analytics, IoT, fraud detection, and high frequency trading.
