Hasura, the data access infrastructure company, is adding cross database joins to the Hasura GraphQL Engine, allowing the ability to access data across databases at the API layer. According to a 2020 analysis by Gartner, 75 % of all databases will be deployed or migrated to a cloud platform by 2022. But moving database workloads, such as Oracle and SQL, can be complex and expensive. There are typically two options, 'lift and shift' or pivot to a new architecture.
