Hazelcast, provider of an in-memory data grid (IMDG), is releasing a new version of Hazelcast Jet, introducing pipeline API to increase developer productivity. In addition to the pipeline API for general purpose programming of batch and stream processing, Hazelcast Jet 0.5 includes fault tolerance using snapshotting with the integrated Hazelcast IMDG.

IBM says that customers will have access to its first commercially available quantum computing systems before the year is out. The company announced two significant quantum processor upgrades for its IBM Q early-access commercial systems. These upgrades represent rapid advances in quantum hardware. The first IBM Q systems available online to clients will have a 20 qubit processor, featuring improvements in superconducting qubit design, connectivity and packaging. Coherence times (the amount of time available to perform quantum computations) average 90 microseconds, and enable high-fidelity quantum operations.

A new Oracle study reveals that enterprises view in-application communications technologies as critical to enhancing customer experiences and gaining a competitive edge and higher growth. While 65% of enterprise IT decision makers polled noted that embedded communications will become the dominant way of communicating with employees, suppliers and customers moving forward, nearly half (46%) noted they lack the expertise to deploy new communications technologies.

NVIDIA announced in a blog post recently that Oracle is using NVIDIA's Tesla GPU accelerators for its public cloud. Oracle's cloud customers can access NVIDIA Tesla P100 GPU accelerators, starting today, and Oracle will expand its cloud offerings to include the Tesla V100 GPUs, which are based on the NVIDIA Volta architecture.

Hazelcast, a provider of an open source in-memory data grid (IMDG), is releasing an updated version of its platform, enhancing usability, performance, and scalability. Hazelcast IMDG 3.9 expands its near cache abilities to include for all clients including Scala, .Net/C#, C++, Python and Node.js. Enhanced application speed is the key of benefit of using near cache. Near cache is often used to serve a small subset of very hot items with minimal latency.
