SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for SAP Applications is now available as the operating system for SAP solutions on the Google Cloud Platform (GCP), allowing enterprise customers to become more agile and reduce operating costs by only paying for what they use.
With the addition of Google Cloud Platform, SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for SAP Applications is now available on three major cloud providers, including Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure.
“Customers can pay hourly or monthly at a priority rate,” said Martin Buitrago, business development manager at SUSE. “We’re looking to expand into other areas with both Google and SAP around machine learning or other options that customers are looking for to run through the cloud.”
Built right into this is the capability to download SUSE’s partners software on a trial basis, explained Michael Tabron Senior Marketing Manager at SUSE.
“If a customer finds something benefits them that works in conjunction with their SAP environment then they can contact that particular partner for additional information on how to get the subscription or license to get access to those services,” Tabron said.
Customers who are starting to think about implementing SAP HANA and S4 HANA solutions in the cloud will benefit the most from this along with existing customers who are looking to move to the cloud, Tabron said.
“Perhaps they don’t have the requisite Linux skills and what they’d like to do is go ahead and get up to speed as quickly as possible so they are looking at the public cloud as a viable option to doing that,” Tabron said.
