Impelsys, provider of publishing and learning technology solutions, and Ontotext, a provider of semantic technology, are releasing an integrated technology offering.
According to the vendors, this collaboration will allow publishers and content providers to benefit from semantically enriched metadata. The two vendors each bring different capabilities to the partnership.
Impelsys offers its flagship digital content delivery infrastructure, iPublishCentral, which can support dissemination of basic PDF/EPUB based eBooks to complex SCORM compliant courseware modules.
On the Ontotext side, there is the GraphDB semantic database and experience in semantic technology for publishers that helps content creators automate their workflows, streamline production, curation, and reuse of content and provides richer context, and relevant content recommendations and advertising to consumers.
The introduction of a semantic layer to the Impelsys iPublishCentral infrastructure with the Ontotext GraphDB and Dynamic Semantic Publishing Platform is aimed at adding new perspectives to content publishing and enabling smart content authoring, discovery, repurposing, and monetization for publishers and e-learning providers.
