Compuware, a mainframe-dedicated software company, has announced day-one support for IBM CICS Transaction Server (TS) for z/OS V5.5. New capabilities within CICS TS V5.5 include support for JavaScript Node.js applications; an enhanced CICS Explorer; as well as advancements in systems management and enhanced security.

Following recent announcements about a new relationship with IBM and expanded service offerings, LogDNA, provider of a multi-cloud log management system, announced it has closed a $25 million Series B investment. The investment round was led by the venture firm Emergence Capital with participation from Initialized Capital, Y Combinator Continuity Growth, and Providence Equity.

Accenture has entered into an agreement to acquire Knowledgent, a data intelligence company, expanding its data management capabilities. MongoDB recently released the beta offering of its native data visualization tool, MongoDB Charts, on its cloud database-as-a-service, MongoDB Atlas, which runs on runs on Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform. According to the vendor, the new feature allows users to quickly create data visualizations and share them with their teams with no code to write, no tools to configure and no data movement or duplication.

Import.io has closed a $15.5 million Series B funding round to accelerate global growth and expand its product offerings to meet the growing needs of enterprises. Import.io's solution is aimed at improving the data prep/analysis time ratio for data professionals. Current industry estimates say roughly 75-80% of their time is spent gathering and cleaning data with the rest left for analysis.

Seagate and IBM are working together to reduce product counterfeiting using blockchain and security technologies. The project, which is designed to help manufacturers, integrators, and business partners fight counterfeit hard drives, uses the IBM Blockchain Platform to authenticate the provenance of disk drive products, bringing a new level of multi-layered security protection to the data management industry.
